Most conventional physicians use the TSH test to determine if one has a thyroid disorder and to dose thyroid medications. However, this test can often time be misleading, as levels of circulating hormones may fluctuate at different times, such as in Hashimoto’s, the person affected may fluctuate between highs and lows. 2021.12.02 01:11 MyloParadox What do I need to know about comissioning art for game dev?

Hello, to keep it short and simple I've been getting comfortable with unity for the better part of a year and am about to begin my thesis project over game development. My project will be a pretty simple 3d horror game with 2d pixel art. The camera will have some render settings adjusted so that whatever is viewed has a more pixalated psx/ps2 feel to it, might even just do a simple plugin to keep the workload easy on me. The only thing I'm not comfortable with handling on my own is the sprites for the main enemy which I plan to have comissioned.
At what point in the game dev process do you hire an artist? Does your artist need to be aware of the textures/lighting of the game or can you hire them beforehand? Is low poly easier or harder to create than pixel art? Is animating the comissioned art in the unity animator feasible or is my time better spent using an actual animation software? Is there anything I should be concerned about or know when comissioning an artist for a game?

2021.12.02 01:11 GR_Kogo Help! Poor performance despite having good hardware.

I found an old (≈ 5-6 years) gaming laptop of mine and I am trying to run TM on it but the performance is terrible. I’m running it on the lowest settings in every category but I’m getting pretty bad stutters and I fluctuate between 40-50 fps. Although the laptop is old it has good hardware (I’ll list at the end). I know the Nvidia graphics driver is up to date, not sure about others. I’m just looking to run the game very smoothly and I don’t need the graphics to be amazing (just not so bad that it hurts to look at). Anyone got ideas to fix this?

2021.12.02 01:11 Exact_Language_1031 Is a mid size sedan less safe than a compact suv with a similar curb weight?

For example is the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry less safe than the CR-V or Rav-4? The curb weights are pretty similar but does the higher riding position make the suv's safer?

2021.12.02 01:11 nayrad I keep waking up the instant I become lucid?

Has anyone else struggled with waking up the instant you become lucid? Past few nights that I've managed to have vivid dreams that I remember, they've all ended the same.
First, I notice something weird in the dream. Could be anything, recently I've gotten good at noticing things in dreams because I prime myself with lucid dreaming before sleeping. I then say to myself "huh that's odd". I might let it go for a few more moments. But as soon as the thought "could this be a dream?" even crosses my mind for a split second.. boom I'm lying awake in bed. I never even have a chance to do something like spin in circles, which I've heard helps. Is this a common issue? Has anyone learned any techniques or tricks for getting over this hump?

2021.12.02 01:11 amitverma0911 What is a Nonprofit Organization, and How Does it Work?

As defined by the United States Federal Government, Non-profits are organizations that do not profit from any source. In other words, non-profits are run by people who have a passion for helping the world. This is in contrast to profit-based organizations, which have one purpose: to make a profit. Many non-profits provide direct financial support to their projects and endeavours, such as educating, organizing and delivering health care. Many also have an administrative staff and volunteer leaders who assist with fundraising and community development.
There are many different types of non-profits, and several are pretty popular. The most well-known ones are charities and churches. However, there are many other organizations, some of which you may not have heard of. These are the non-profit organizations you may be familiar with, including:
US Nonprofit Organizations: One of the most well-known non-profits in the United States is national organizations. These groups focus on issues like poverty, discrimination, and war. Some have branches overseas, such as the Red Cross. Examples include the US navy, US Boycotters, and US Lions.
Non Profit Organizations Within The State Department There are a few examples of non-profit organizations within the United States government. The Peace Corps assists students and other international students, and the Transportation Security Administration ( TSA). The Forest Service, Food stamps, and the Veteran's Administration are other non-profit organizations within the state department. There is also the Green Berets, which are all branches of the Army National Guard. The USO is another example of a national for-profit organization.
Non-profit Organizations Outside The Government Many organizations outside of the government are classified as non-profit. There are many types of non-profit organizations in the United States. They can be corporations, LLCs, and even sole proprietorships. Any business can be categorized as a non-profit. Some examples include animal organizations, environmental organizations, and religious organizations.
How Do Non-profits Work? Volunteers run non-profits. They get involved in fundraising events, promote awareness of their cause, and do various volunteer work. Some non-profits do not receive any funding, but they do carry out their activities anyway.
Why Should I Become A Volunteer? There are several reasons why you should become a volunteer for a non-profit organization. Many non-profits require large amounts of money to operate, so volunteers are essential for their operation. Non-profits also provide a valuable service to society, with a large amount of tax that the government's demands from non-profits, especially those that receive grants. There is a demand for high-quality volunteers who are willing to dedicate their time and effort to non-profit organizations. There are also special programs for volunteers that you can participate in.
What is a non-profit organization? Non-profit organizations offer a valuable service to the community, but they need help with funding. If you desire to help out a non-profit organization but do not know how to start or where to start looking, you should become a volunteer.
What is required for being accepted into one of these organizations? To join a non-profit, you will need to be a US citizen, be enrolled in school (if you are a high school student) or be a legal resident of the United States. Non-profits also need people who are knowledgeable about tax-exempt bonds. You will also need to be physically fit to handle computer activities and to be able to work for long hours. Some non-profit organizations require that you have experience in communications and public relations.
What is required for being accepted into one of these non-profits? To become a non-profit trustee, you will need to complete the necessary paperwork and undergo a background screening process. To be eligible for acceptance into one of these non-profits, you must demonstrate that you can accept and manage responsibilities as a non-profit organization trustee. You must also confirm that you have the integrity and character to be trusted with important tasks as a non-profit trustee and that you are willing to adhere to all of the organizational policies and procedures that govern the IRS.
What is a for-profit NPO? A for-profit NPO can be either a government agency or a private for-profit company. Examples include NPOs such as the Arizona Economic Development Foundation and the North Carolina Department of Revenue. There are many for-profit NPOs operating today. The IRS has established guidelines and criteria that non-profits must meet to be eligible for tax exemption.
A not-for-profit organization is not necessarily a non-profit organization nor a for-profit organization. Many for-profit organizations and NPOs are considered non-profitable and have obtained tax-exempt status by being not-for-profit organizations. An NPO is an entity itself, while a not-for-profit NPO is an entity associated with the NPO.
